Speaker Bio
Franca Muraca is a notary public in and for the province of British Columbia. Her ties to the Kamloops area run deep. Being of service and connecting with people are what Franca is most passionate about. She was born and raised in Kamloops, graduated from NorKam Secondary School in 1988 and enrolled at the University College of the Cariboo, now Thompson Rivers University. After completing a university transfer, she headed to UBC to complete her undergraduate degree with a double major in French and English. Franca then enrolled in Simon Fraser University’s Professional Development program and became a secondary teacher, a career that she enjoyed for more than 25 years. Eight years into her teaching career, she completed my first master’s degree, specializing in Administration and Curriculum. Franca has worked in several high schools in the district, been a member of the Kamloops Thompson Teacher’s Executive, led over 15 trips to Europe with her students, been a staff representative, and been chosen to represent her district at Harvard University.
In December 2018, Franca graduated with her second master’s degree in Applied Law and was commissioned in June 2019 as a notary public. She is a busy working mom of two incredible daughters, so certainly understands the need to strive for work/life balance. She loves working with people. The work of a notary is both challenging and rewarding and Franca loves what she does! The people she has the privilege of assisting and the constantly new and interesting challenges that come with the work of a BC Notary, make this a rewarding and exciting career.
